About the Artist
I came to painting later in life. I was a neuroscientist for many years, then eventually focused on a business in medical communications. However, after a cancer diagnosis in 2020, I decided to pursue interests I had not yet allowed myself the time to explore. Principle among these was my love of art.
I regard the creation of art as an adventure and love a blank canvas. I initially let my emotions guide my choice of colour, tool, and stroke. In this phase, there is no plan or expectation. It is simply a period of freedom, self-expression, and experimentation. An experience of living in a moment. The point when a theme emerges from the canvas is very rewarding. It also invariably brings on a phase of apprehension. I become hesitant to make any new changes and the painting lies dormant, untouched for a time until I find the courage to put brush back to canvas and finish the work.
I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and I take commissions.
